Harpsichord after Pascal Taskin 1769, double-manual
Famous also for his successful reworkings (ravalements) of the sought-after Ruckers harpsichords, Taskin probably really brought French harpsichord building to the highest level in the 18th century. Everything is immaculately built, inside all the constructive elements are strongly rounded, so that the sound is reflected in many ways, making it even richer. The original instrument, now in the Russell Collection in Edinburgh, was in the Taskin family until the end of the 19th century.
